The Lakewood Playhouse is proud to present the THIRD SHOW of our 74th SEASON of PLAYS Lillian Hellmans Riveting, Controversial Drama THE CHILDRENS HOUR, which addresses current events in ways that are even more relevant today than when it was first presented to protesting crowds in 1934. The Play will be performed on Fridays, Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm. Performances will be January 11th February 3rd, 2013, with Special Showings at 8:00pm on Thursday, Janaury 24th (Pay What You Can Night) and 8:00pm on Thursday, Janaury 31st (Pay What You Can Actors Benefit). Our Ticket Prices are $24.00 (General Admission), $21.00 (Senior/Military) and $18.00 (Students/Educators).

This show will be directed by JOHN MUNN, Managing Artistic Director of the Lakewood Playhouse, and Director of Last Season’s THE FARNSWORTH INVENTION.

ABOUT THE SHOW: "Sticks and Stones can Break Your Bones, but Lies Can Ruin a Lifetime.†One of the great successes of this distinguished writer. A serious and adult play about two women who run a school for girls. After a malicious youngster starts a rumor about the two women, the rumor soon turns to scandal. As the young girl comes to understand the power she wields, she sticks by her story, which precipitates tragedy for the women. It is later discovered that the gossip was pure invention, but it is too late. Irreparable damage has been done.
